Moment A Nigerian Lady Insists Her Name Is Pronounce Correctly At Her Graduation Ceremony That Took Place In The US,

A Nigerian lady in the diaspora has insisted her name should be pronounced correctly during her graduation ceremony that took place in the US.

The young lady was on the stage to receive her degree, when the commencement announcer pronounced her name wrongly. Immediately, she corrected the White woman by spelling out her name in syllables.

The woman attempted to, but couldn’t pronounce the lady’s name correctly, hence, she allowed the lady to pronounce her name using the microphone. The Nigerian lady, who is from the Yoruba tribe identifies as Oluwatamilore Osileti

Below is what she said in the video,

Never let these schools Mispronounce your names i love that she allowed her to say it herself literally beautiful name for a beautiful graduate.

In no time, Nigerians have flooded the comment section, stating that white people should learn to pronounce African names correctly as Africans make an effort to pronounce theirs properly. Many opined that the white woman was meant to have learned the correct pronunciation of every graduate’s name before the day of the ceremony.

Some applauded the Nigerian lady for insisting her name was pronounced correctly while others criticized her for mispronouncing her name even after correcting the commencement speaker.
